Job Description

As an Associate Software Engineer I at Anthology, you will design, develop, and maintain features of the Anthology Ally product, focusing on accessibility and innovation in digital course content. You will work across frontend and backend technologies, collaborate with global teams, and use cloud platforms and version control to deliver scalable and ethical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain features of the Anthology Ally product
• Collaborate with product and software development teams across functions
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment
• Work on ethical, accessible, and inclusive product features
• Use AWS cloud for application deployment and management
• Contribute to backend and frontend development using Scala, JavaScript, and Angular/TypeScript

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of professional experience in software engineering
• Frontend development experience in Angular/TypeScript
• Familiarity with full software development lifecycle
• Experience developing, building, testing, deploying, and operating applications
• Experience with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
• Awareness of distributed systems
• Experience with backend programming languages (Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
• Knowledge of relational database design and querying concepts
• Functional programming experience (Scala, Haskell) preferred
• Fluency in written and spoken English
